Conclusion:
400 years had passed since Columbus first found the americas, as celebrated in the 1893 Colombian exposition in chicago, and since then the country had grown vastly. The country once rural farm land, had now become a place for the businessman to thrive. Protective tariffs acts such as the McKinley Tariff and the of 1890, and the Wilson-Gorman (of 1894), along with a series of panics, and other factors had shaped the big cities such as New York and Chicago. Architecture and other art forms, including paintings had also brought flavor to the cities, greatly changed during the late 19th century.
